In a wide-ranging sports programme, which includes 24 sports, 22 of which are Olympic sports, we saw 3 500 athletes from some 20 countries. Among them, our sportsmen represented for the first time the independent Republic of Croatia.
Motif: Stylized swimming tracks The Twelfth Mediterranean Games were held in France. In the centre of international sports competitions between the 16th and 27th of June in 1993 were 19 historical towns of the Languedoc-Roussillon province. The host of the Games has spent a billion francs in the construction and modernization of sports facilities to meet international requirements. In a wide-ranging sports programme, which includes 24 sports, 22 of which are Olympic sports, we saw 3 500 athletes from some 20 countries. Among them, our sportsmen represented for the first time the independent Republic of Croatia. The stamp was printed in sheets of 20 pieces each. HPT issued a first day cover and a commemorative sheet.
